Over sixty members attended Opening Day on Saturday 12th April 2025, with fifty four of these playing in the Hat game. Those in attendance were delighted to get back on the green after the Winter break and are looking forward to the 2025 Season. The Hat game was followed with a three course meal and a raffle. The raffle was to raise funds towards reupholstering the seating area in the lounge.
During the closed Season the Committee and some Members have been extremely busy getting the clubhouse, green and surrounds ready for Season 2025. I am sure that if you haven't been at the club recently that you will see a huge difference. The Green has seen some extensive work carried out including removing and replacing the the astroturf and the timbers on the bankings, laying of top dressing, spraying with fertiliser, micro tined, scarified and regular mat dragging and grass cutting. This work was all carried out by volunteers. The surrounds of the club have been cleared of rubbish and the flower beds and lawn have been given a tidy. But the biggest difference of all is the new fence at the back of the club. Many thanks go to Roofing and Building Supplies (sales@rabs.co.uk) who supplied all of the wood for free and to the guys who did all the work to get it put up before opening day. We have also replaced the pebbles in the ditches with rubber liners and put pebbles around the green. Hopefully this will cut down on the amount of weeding that needs done. I am sure you will all be delighted by the way the club, green and surrounds are looking.
Let's hope for a warm dry Season where we can all enjoy the benefits of the many improvements.

Seafield Bowling Club are delighted to announce that we have appointed our first ever Lady President. Linsey Burgess who has been a member of the club for many years and has been an active member of the Committee is honoured to be given this important role. Seafield admitted Lady members for the first time in 1979 but they were given restrictions on when they could play on the green. In 2002, the ladies were offered and accepted full membership. Linsey becoming the First Lady President shows that the current Seafield members have moved with the times and are now fully inclusive to all.
Opening day will be Saturday the 12th April. More information will be shared nearer the time.
Fees for this year were agreed to increase to £140 and £70 for new members. This information has been shared with members via email, text and Whatsapp.
It was agreed to hold an Open Day for new members on the 13th April. If you know of anyone who may be interested in coming along please email the club secretary at secretary.seafieldbc@hotmail.com
The members of the committee will remain the same as last year with the addition of Anne Gibbs as Ladies Match secretary. The roles of some of the members have changed. Please see the Committee Page.
The bankings around the green need replacing and this work will be carried out over the next weeks by volunteers. If you can help please do so.
